Shifts Available in Assisted Living: - Day Shift (6am-2pm) - includes every other weekend - Eve (2pm-10pm) - Part-time, to include every other weekend - NOC (10pm-6am) Shifts - Part-time, to include every other weekend

Shifts Available in Memory Care - Day Shift (6am-2pm) - Part-time, includes every other weekend - Eve (2pm-10pm) - Part-time, to include every other weekend - NOC (10pm-6am) Shifts - Part-time, to include every other weekend

Shifts are available

Schedule:  Rotating part-time schedules; Every other weekend required with rotating holiday schedules

Training/Orientation:   1st week is completed on Day Shifts for training

As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) at Ovation Heartwood, you play a key role in supporting the health, comfort, and daily well-being of our Assisted Living residents. You’ll safely administer medications while building trusted relationships, working closely with the care team, and helping create a calm, supportive environment where residents feel cared for and at home.

Job Summary

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) assists in administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring correct dosages, times, and documentation, while also providing basic nursing care and monitoring resident well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Medication Administration: - Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.  - Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered.  - Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response.  - Maintain accurate records of medication administration.  - Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse.

Basic Nursing Care: - Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.  - Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.  - Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.

Resident Care and Safety: - Ensure the safety and comfort of residents.  - Answer residents’ call lights and respond to their needs promptly.  - Maintain a clean and organized environment.  - Follow established healthcare standards and practices.

Communication and Documentation: - Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff.  - Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly.  - Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse.

Other Duties: - May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse.  - Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.  - Maintain confidentiality of resident information.  - Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications - Experience as a Certified Medication Aide in a Skilled Nursing, Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility. - Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.   - Experience in electronic medical records documentation. - Must be 18 years or older. - Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
