Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Jobbie, Inc. ("Jobbie", "we", "us") is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to jobbie.bot, the Jobbie iOS and Android app, employers.jobbie.bot, the Jobbie enterprise portal and API, and the emails, texts and push notifications we send. It covers job seekers, employers, organization administrators, and people who correspond with the application email addresses we operate.

Contact us about privacy at hello@jobbie.bot. Our Privacy Officer (the person in charge of the protection of personal information, for the purposes of Quebec, Singapore, South Africa and India) can be reached at the same address.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information you give us, the information created while we apply on your behalf, and a limited amount of technical data:

Information you provide

  • Account information — your name, email address and password (or your Apple/Google sign-in identity if you use social sign-in).
  • Phone number — used for applications that ask for one, for account messages, and, where you agree to receive texts, for the text messages described in section 6.
  • Profile and application information — mailing address, date of birth, work history, education, skills, LinkedIn/portfolio links, job preferences (titles, locations, salary, employment type) and your answers to common screening questions. Optionally, demographic and work-eligibility details that applications commonly request — gender, race/ethnicity, veteran and disability status, visa/sponsorship needs and security-clearance level. These optional fields are sensitive; you can leave them blank, and we use them only to answer the application questions you ask us to.
  • Resumes and documents you upload, and the cover letters and tailored resumes generated for you.
  • Coaching bookings — the name, email and time you choose when you book a coaching call through our scheduling provider.
  • Communications — messages you send to support, survey answers, and testimonials or success stories you choose to share.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processors (Stripe on the web, Apple for in-app purchases on iOS). We receive transaction records and limited card details such as the card type and last four digits; we do not store your full card number.

Information created while we apply for you

  • Your private Jobbie application address and the messages it receives — verification codes, application confirmations, recruiter replies, interview invitations, rejections and offers. We store these messages in your Jobbie Inbox, forward the kinds you choose to your registered email (by default interview invitations and offers; change this in Settings), and read them automatically (including with AI) to complete verification steps and to update the status of your applications.
  • Accounts and credentials we create for you on employer career sites and applicant tracking systems, stored so we can sign in for you.
  • Application records — which jobs we applied to, when, the answers and documents submitted, and the outcome detected.
  • Connected email (optional) — if you connect your own mailbox instead of using the private address, you provide an app password that we use read-only, via IMAP, solely to retrieve job-application verification codes. We do not scan a connected mailbox for anything else, and we do not use it to detect application outcomes. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored credential.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — device type and operating system, browser, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, app version, pages and features used, crash and performance data, and server logs.
  • Push-notification token, if you enable notifications in the app.
  • Location (app only) — during setup the app may ask for permission to use your device location once, to fill in your job-search location. We do not track your location in the background and do not keep a location history.
  • Cookies, pixels and similar technologies on the web — see section 7.

Information from others

  • Organizations that provide your Jobbie seat — your name, email address and the program settings they choose (section 9).
  • Employers who request an introduction to you through Jobbie for Employers (section 8).
  • Job boards and employers — confirmations and replies to applications we submit.
  • Referral and affiliate partners — the code or link you arrived with, so we can attribute your sign-up.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including creating your account and private application address
  • Find matching roles and submit applications to job boards and employers on your behalf, including creating accounts on employer sites, auto-completing screening questions, and generating cover letters and tailored resumes
  • Keep your application tracker current by reading verification codes and detecting outcomes (interview, offer, rejection) in employer replies
  • Send you application updates, verification codes, receipts and other service messages, and — with your consent or as the law allows — marketing emails, texts and push notifications (section 6)
  • Show anonymized candidate summaries to approved employers and arrange introductions you choose to answer (section 8)
  • Operate programs run by organizations that provide seats (section 9)
  • Schedule and deliver coaching calls
  • Process subscriptions and purchases, prevent fraud, abuse and payment disputes, and provide customer support
  • Measure and improve the Service and our marketing, including with the analytics and advertising tools described in section 7
  • Share anonymized milestones — never your name — as described in section 10
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety and security of Jobbie, our users and others

4. AI and Automated Processing

We use AI models to generate cover letters, tailor resumes, answer screening questions, score how well a job matches your preferences, and classify employer emails that arrive at your private application address (for example, to recognize an interview invitation). To do this we send the relevant parts of your profile, the job description or the email to our AI providers — currently Anthropic, Google and OpenAI (some of them through the OpenRouter platform). They process that data on our behalf to provide the Service, and we choose providers and settings under which they do not use your data to train their models. We do not use your personal information to train AI models and we do not use it for third-party advertising models.

Autopilot selects jobs to apply to using the criteria you set (roles, locations, salary, employment type, excluded companies and keywords) together with AI relevance scoring, and then applies at your direction. These are automated actions carried out on your instructions, not decisions we make about you: you control the criteria, you can pause Autopilot or turn on review-before-submit at any time, and you can ask us to explain or review any application we made. Hiring decisions are made by employers, not by Jobbie. AI output can be wrong; we ask you to review what is submitted on your behalf.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Job boards and employers — when you (manually or via Autopilot) authorize an application, we submit the relevant profile information, documents and answers to the third-party job board or applicant tracking system (such as Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby or Indeed) and the employer. Once submitted, that information is governed by their privacy practices.
  • Employers using Jobbie for Employers — anonymized candidate summaries; your name and contact details only after you reply to an introduction (section 8).
  • Organizations that provide your seat — your application activity, statuses and outcomes (section 9).
  • Service providers who process data on our behalf: cloud hosting, storage and databases (Amazon Web Services), web hosting and delivery (Vercel, Cloudflare), AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, OpenRouter), browser-automation infrastructure used to submit applications (Browserbase and similar providers), captcha-solving services (which receive only the captcha challenge, never your profile), payment processors (Stripe, Apple; Superwall and RevenueCat for in-app purchase management), email delivery (Resend), text messaging (ZeroSettle), push notifications (Expo), scheduling (Cal.com), product analytics (PostHog), and our internal team tools (Slack). Each receives only what it needs for its function and may use it only on our instructions.
  • Advertising and analytics partners — on our website we use Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, Snap and Google Analytics tags that collect browsing data as described in section 7. Some laws treat this as "sharing" personal information for advertising; you can opt out as described there and in section 13.
  • Referral and affiliate partners — we record which partner referred you so we can pay their commission; we do not share your name or contact details with them.
  • Legal, safety and business transfers — when required by law or legal process; to protect the rights, safety and security of Jobbie, our users or others; and, with notice to you, to a successor if Jobbie is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • With your direction — for example when you ask us to share a testimonial, or connect a third-party service.

6. Emails, Texts and Push Notifications

Service messages. We send emails (and, where you have given us a number, texts) that are part of the Service — verification codes, application updates, receipts, security notices and coaching-call details. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account, except by deleting it.

Marketing. We send marketing emails and, if you agreed to receive texts, recurring automated text messages from Jobbie — reminders, tips, offers and booking information. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help; unsubscribe links are in every marketing email; push notifications can be turned off in your device settings. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything. We do not share your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing. Our texting is delivered through ZeroSettle.

Country rules. We send marketing messages only with the consent required where you live — including under the TCPA (United States), CASL (Canada), the UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy rules, the Singapore Spam Control Act and Do Not Call Registry, POPIA (South Africa) and the TRAI regulations (India) — and we honor opt-outs promptly.

7. Cookies, Pixels and Analytics

Strictly necessary. Session cookies and tokens that keep you signed in, protect forms and balance load. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

Analytics. PostHog (first-party product analytics) and Google Analytics help us understand feature usage and reliability.

Advertising. Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel and the Snap Pixel measure how our ads perform and help us reach people likely to be interested in Jobbie, including by building audiences from website visits. These partners may link that activity to the account you hold with them under their own privacy policies.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the ad-preference controls offered by Meta, TikTok, Snap and Google, or email hello@jobbie.bot with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share" and we will exclude you from our advertising audiences. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we rely on your browser choices and on the opt-out requests you send us. Our mobile app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites; it uses Superwall to present our in-app paywall and Expo for push notifications.

8. Jobbie for Employers

Approved employers can search Jobbie job seekers on employers.jobbie.bot. They see anonymized summaries — first name, location, target roles and industries, years of experience, workplace preference, skills, work history and education — with no surname, email, phone number or resume file. If an employer wants to talk to you, we send you an introduction email with the employer’s name, website, roles and message; your contact details are shared with that employer only if you reply. Employers agree to use this information only to evaluate you for genuine opportunities. If you do not want to appear in employer searches, email hello@jobbie.bot and we will remove you.

9. Organizations and Enterprise Seats

If your Jobbie seat is provided by an organization — an employer, outplacement or career-services provider, or school — that organization’s administrators can see your application activity, application statuses and outcomes (including interviews and offers), can receive that information in their own systems through the Jobbie API and webhooks, and can set certain profile fields and preferences for the program. Emails we send about applications made under the program may be branded "Jobbie via <organization>". The organization is responsible for its own use of that information and for telling you about it; Jobbie remains responsible for how it operates the Service. Organization administrators and employer users: we process your name, work email, company details, API keys, webhook settings, billing records and usage logs to run your account.

10. Public Milestone Posts

When an interview invitation or job offer is detected, we may celebrate it publicly — on our X (Twitter) account and in our internal Slack — in the form "A Jobbie user just landed an interview for a <role> at <company>". These posts never include your name, photo, email or any other identifier. If you would rather we did not post about your milestones at all, email hello@jobbie.bot and we will exclude your account.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active so that your tracker, documents and application history keep working. You can permanently delete your account at any time — in the app via Settings → Delete Account, or on the web in your account settings. Deletion removes your profile, resumes, saved jobs, application history, preferences, the messages in your private application address and any connected-email credential from our active systems promptly, and cancels your subscription. Copies in our encrypted database backups expire within 14 days.

We retain a limited amount of information after deletion where we have to: payment and tax records (generally up to 7 years), records needed to prevent fraud and abuse or to enforce our agreements, and anonymized statistics. Applications already submitted to employers and job boards, and records already delivered to an organization that provided your seat, remain with them under their own policies.

12. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for stored credentials, access controls that limit who at Jobbie can see personal information, and monitoring for abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, email hello@jobbie.bot with the subject "Security"; we investigate every report and ask for a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue before public disclosure.

13. Your Rights and How to Use Them

Wherever you live, you can: access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy in a portable format; correct it (most of it directly in your profile and settings); delete it (see section 11); restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing; withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing; opt out of employer searches, milestone posts and advertising audiences; and complain to a supervisory authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise a right, use the controls in Settings or email hello@jobbie.bot from the address on your account (or tell us how we can verify it is you). An authorized agent may act for you where the law allows, with proof of authority. We respond within 30 days, or sooner where local law requires, and will tell you if we need more time. If we decline a request we will explain why, and you can ask us to review the decision.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

We process your personal information under the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection on these lawful bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service, matching you with roles and submitting applications); your consent (marketing messages, the optional sensitive fields, connecting your own mailbox, device location); our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service, preventing fraud and abuse, measuring our marketing, celebrating anonymized milestones) where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time.

Special-category data. Race/ethnicity, disability status and similar fields are special-category data. We collect them only with your explicit consent, only to answer the application questions you ask us to, and you can leave them blank or remove them at any time.

Your rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection (including to direct marketing at any time) and the right not to be subject to a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects (see section 4). You can lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) — though we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

United States (California and other states)

In the preceding 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, from you, from your device and from the sources in section 2: identifiers (name, email, phone, account IDs, IP address); personal records (address, date of birth); protected classifications (the optional demographic fields); commercial information (purchases and subscription history); internet activity (pages and features used, interactions with our site and ads); geolocation (approximate, from IP; precise only with your permission in the app); professional and employment information (work history, resumes, applications and outcomes); education information; inferences (job-match scoring); and sensitive personal information (race/ethnicity, disability and veteran status, visa status, account login credentials, precise geolocation, and the contents of messages to your application address). We use them for the purposes in section 3 and disclose them to the recipients in section 5.

We do not sell personal information and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do "share" (within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act) browsing data with advertising partners through the pixels described in section 7. To opt out, email hello@jobbie.bot with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share", block the pixels in your browser, or use the partners’ own controls. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the Service you request — to submit the applications you direct and to secure your account — and not to infer characteristics about you; you can ask us to limit it to those uses at the same address.

Residents of California and of other states with consumer-privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island) have the rights to know, access, correct, delete and port their personal information, to opt out of sales, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We verify requests through your account and respond within 45 days (extendable once where the law allows). If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will answer within 45 days and tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you are not satisfied. California residents may request this information under the "Shine the Light" law; we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

Canada

We handle your personal information under PIPEDA and the substantially similar provincial laws of Quebec (Law 25), Alberta and British Columbia. We ask for your express consent for sensitive information, for marketing messages (CASL) and for location, and rely on implied consent for the processing that is obviously needed to provide the Service you signed up for. You can withdraw consent, access and correct your information, and ask us to stop using it, subject to legal and contractual limits. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and by the providers listed in section 5, where it may be accessible to foreign authorities under local law; we have assessed the privacy risks of these transfers and protect the data through contracts with our providers. Quebec residents: our Privacy Officer is reachable at hello@jobbie.bot; you may ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index it, and we will tell you if we ever base a decision solely on automated processing and how to have it reviewed. Complaints may be made to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

India

Jobbie is the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We process your personal data for the purposes in section 3 on the basis of the consent you give when you create your account and use the features described, or for the legitimate uses the Act permits. You can withdraw consent, obtain a summary of the personal data we process and who we have shared it with, request correction, completion, updating or erasure, nominate a person to exercise your rights if you are unable to, and have grievances addressed. Write to our Grievance Officer at hello@jobbie.bot with the subject "Grievance"; if you are not satisfied with our response you may approach the Data Protection Board of India. Jobbie is only for adults, and we do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18. Your data is stored in the United States.

Singapore

We collect, use and disclose your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 for the purposes in section 3, with your consent or as the Act otherwise permits. You can withdraw consent (which may limit the Service we can provide), request access to and correction of your personal data, and ask about how it has been used or disclosed in the past year. We transfer personal data out of Singapore only to recipients bound by contract to protect it to a comparable standard. We send marketing texts or calls to Singapore numbers only with your clear and unambiguous consent and otherwise comply with the Do Not Call Registry. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at hello@jobbie.bot; complaints may be made to the Personal Data Protection Commission.

South Africa

Jobbie, Inc. is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We process your personal information for the purposes in section 3 with your consent, to perform our contract with you, or as POPIA otherwise permits, and we process special personal information (such as race or health-related disability status) only with your consent and only to answer the application questions you ask us to. We send direct marketing by electronic means only with your consent and you can object at any time. Personal information is transferred to the United States under contracts that require a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA. You may request access to and correction or deletion of your information and object to processing; our Information Officer can be reached at hello@jobbie.bot, and you may complain to the Information Regulator (complaints.IR@justice.gov.za).

Other countries

If you live elsewhere (for example Guatemala), you have the rights described at the top of this section and any additional rights under your local law, which prevails over this policy where it is mandatory.

14. International Data Transfers

Jobbie is operated from the United States, and your personal information is processed and stored on servers in the United States and by service providers that may be located outside your country. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the Swiss equivalents. Transfers from Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa and other countries are protected by contracts with our providers that require safeguards comparable to those in this policy, and we assess the privacy risks of each transfer. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards at hello@jobbie.bot.

15. Children

Jobbie is for adults in the workforce and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Earlier versions are available on request.

17. Contact Us
