The AVP, Network Engineering, oversees the Core and Edge Engineering team and is a ccountable for the strategic execution and overall performance of over 200 Engineers responsible for engineering Verizon’s Core & Edge networks, supporting all mobility and broadband customers. You will be responsible for driving the strategic alignment to meet crucial network programs, including capacity additions, resiliency & reliability improvement, and equipment & site decommissioning.

What you'll be doing:

Provide leadership and execute growth and capacity solutions across Verizon's global voice and data infrastructure - Serve as "the face" of the Network organization with key clients. - Lead a high-impact cross-functional team of Directors, Managers, and Engineers. - Establish Core & Edge Engineering priorities and network plans.  - Ensure survivability of underlying Layer 2 & 3 networks supporting Verizon’s customers.  - Direct high-impact network consolidation and performance optimization initiatives, including the Frontier integration project, ONTNG hardware turn-downs, eNSE volume expansion, PPR growth, and financial business cases for network diversity. - Direct comprehensive volume management and network efficiency across Fios/PON, IP Core and Edge routing, SS7 modernization, and VGMN framework architectures.

What you'll need to have: - 10+ Years of relevant Network experience - 6+ Years of Management & leadership - Expertise in high-scale capacity enhancements and network resiliency - Demonstrated history directing cross-functional engineering groups to execute extensive network rollouts, facility retirement programs, and hardware turn-downs.

Even better if you have: - Proven technical leadership spanning IP Core and Edge routing, Broadband and Fios architectures (including OLT, PON, and DSL), Voice and Video Systems, and out-of-band management networks (VGMN). - Demonstrated financial acumen building business cases and ROI models for capital investment programs, network diversity initiatives, and legacy equipment decommissioning. - Demonstrated track record converting executive objectives into targeted performance scorecards, volume metrics, and tactical rollout timelines.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $191,500.00 - $367,000.00.
