Job description

As a Commissioning Engineer, a typical day might include the following: - Know and apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system automation and commissioning. - Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices. - Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision. - Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.

Required Qualifications - B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline - Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions - Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 75% based on focus area. - Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills - Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications - College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems) - Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate - Work experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction

Focus Area = Commissioning - Commissioning = perform commissioning and site acceptance testing in the field, train and assist customers with installation, commissioning and operation of devices. Up to 75% travel.

This position is available in Pullman, WA; Houston, TX; or Alpharetta, GA.

Pay Range Data

Project Engineer I: $ $88,400 - $132,700

Project Engineer II: $96,000 - $144,000

Project Engineer III: $109,900 - $164,800

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
