Join our dynamic 45-member HR team! As the Learning & Development Specialist - Operations, you'll coordinate and support enterprise-wide learning and professional development initiatives that strengthen employee performance, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness across Sarasota County Government.

This role combines program coordination, operational support, learning systems administration, and stakeholder partnership to support engaging, data-informed learning experiences in classroom, virtual, and hybrid environments. Learning Program Coordination   – 45%   - Coordinate and administer enterprise-wide learning programs, workshops, events, and   other   initiatives   on behalf of the Learning and Development division.   - Partner   with Learning and Development Specialist – Systems to set up classes in Learning Management System (LMS).   - Coordinate logistics for in-person, virtual, and hybrid learning experiences, including technology, materials, facilities, and communications.   - Support onboarding initiatives, including First Day Welcome and New Employee Orientation.   - Manage learning events from planning through completion, including registration, assessments, tracking, communications, and recognition activities.   - Partner with internal and external facilitators to ensure seamless program delivery and high-quality learning experiences.   - Acts as technical and operational producer for live and recorded virtual events.

Learning Systems & Operational Support   – 30%   - Serve as backup administrator for Workday Learning and other learning platforms as needed   and during peak time periods.   - Maintain accurate learning data,   expense tracking,   and reporting metrics.   - Serve as primary contact for AskTraining communications and division inquiries.   - Maintain and optimize division SharePoint   and   shared drive   resources ,   as well as   digital content.   - Utilize tools such as   SmartSheet   and workflow automation platforms to improve organization and efficiency.   - Develop learning support materials including certificates, signage, fillable forms, and related resources.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement   – 15%   - Collect and analyze training effectiveness data through surveys, assessments, participant feedback, and performance metrics.   - Prepare reports and dashboards to track participation, outcomes, and program effectiveness.   - Recommend and implement process improvements and enhancements to learning tools, systems, and experiences.

Vendor & Stakeholder Partnership   – 10%   - Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities related to   award recognition,   learning ,   development initiatives , and other activities.   - Partner with external consultants, facilitators, vendors, and educational institutions to support organizational learning needs.   - Proactively c ollaborate with   leaders, employees,   subject matter experts (SMEs) and   other   stakeholders to support learning solutions aligned with organizational needs.   - Provide high-level customer service and coordination for learning initiatives ranging from small team sessions to large enterprise-wide programs.

Hours: Typical hours are Monday-Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM

About You

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in operations, procurement, event coordination, training, or a related field. - Experience in managing   Smartsheets , complex data, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting learning technologies, e-learning platforms, or learning management systems.

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $58,947.20 - $60,008.00/year, based on your experience
