Strategic Defense Solutions is seeking a  Senior Principal Systems Engineer  to provide leadership for the development, integration, and validation of multi-domain mission systems supporting aircraft and ground stations for U.S. military customers. This role has a strong emphasis on Control Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM), with responsibility for driving financial excellence as well as defining technically executable, affordable, and competitive system solutions.

What YOU will do:     - Transform program EV and cost account reporting through deployment of new methods and toolsets while maintaining existing EVM principles and best practices. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline cost management processes and enhance program performance.   - Provide leading indicators to inform program of projected performance for future planning. - Partner with engineering teams to develop detailed work scope, schedules, and resource requirements for project execution.   - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, program management, and supply chain, to ensure alignment of cost, schedule, and technical performance.   - Organize and lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation while collaborating with the customer, subcontractors, and executive leadership - Organize and lead lab activities including setup, configuration management, and testing. - Own the preparation, cost, and schedule of Design Reviews as well as Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing. - Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action across complex problems.

Qualifications You Must Have: - Experience managing control accounts in EV-compliant environments (e.g., ANSI-748) on a large (>$1B) Defense program. - Experience leading CAMs, IPTLs, and/or project engineers with scope, schedule, and cost accountability.  - Strong application of EV methods including baseline management, variance analysis, CPI/SPI interpretation, EAC forecasting, and corrective action planning.  - Strong understanding and application of Agile principles, rolling wave and detailed planning processes.  - Practical experience across the full Systems Engineering V – from CONOPS development to Sustainment. - Ability to lead financial and schedule planning and reporting for multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other system engineers. - Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in related field and minimum 7 years of experience - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.  - Active and transferable    U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret within 1 year after start.

Qualifications We Prefer: - Experience with RAYTHEON toolsets and methodologies (PMX, GEMs, RLPM, etc) - EV and/or PM6 certification or equivalent - Experience with Survivable Mobile Command Center architectures and operations - Experience with systems support for software and hardware development - Experience with system or application integration - Experience with communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, or V/UHF - Experience with computer networking for ground-based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms - Experience with and knowledge of scripting

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
