Structural Steel Welder & Fitter – Fabrication

Location: Cocoa, FL Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available Starting Pay: $24.00/hour + $3.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift; higher pay available based on experience

Position Overview

Seeking experienced Structural Steel Welders/Fitters for a shop-based fabrication position. Candidates with welding, fitting, or combined structural steel fabrication experience are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do - Read and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications . - Measure, mark, cut, fit, align, and assemble structural steel components. - Perform structural steel welding according to project requirements and applicable standards. - Set up and operate fabrication machinery, equipment, and hand tools. - Use oxyacetylene torches, plasma cutters, drill presses, angle presses, jigs, tape measures, and squares . - Set up and operate a track torch as needed. - Check materials and finished assemblies for proper dimensions, alignment, and workmanship. - Keep the work area organized and follow all required safety practices. - Work with supervisors and other shop team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.

Requirements - Previous experience with structural steel welding, fitting, or fabrication . - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings . - Experience measuring, fitting, aligning, and assembling structural steel. - Working knowledge of welding processes, fabrication equipment, and shop tools. - Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work. - Commitment to safe work practices. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred - Flux Core welding experience. - Ability to successfully complete a Flux Core welding test . - Experience setting up and operating a track torch . - AWS or other welding certifications are a plus.
