The Project Manager will work with multi-disciplinary teams overseeing project staff and sub-contractors, providing guidance to ensure each project meets operational standards. This includes developing detailed scopes of work, budgets and schedules, conducting risk management assessments, and maintaining health, safety and environmental compliance.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of capital projects, ranging from processing asset improvements and equipment replacements to concrete repairs, sump pumps, infrastructure upgrades, and larger multi-disciplinary projects. Projects may involve civil, concrete, piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on projects that align with their existing experience while progressively working toward larger and more complex multi-disciplinary projects. We are open to candidates from any engineering discipline who have strong project management experience and a practical approach to project delivery.
What You’ll Do - Lead multiple capital projects from planning through execution and close-out. - Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and execution plans. - Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. - Work with multi-disciplinary engineering and technical teams, including civil, concrete, piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation. - Review engineering designs to ensure alignment with project objectives, site standards, and regulatory requirements. - Manage contractors and sub-contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. - Monitor project progress, quality, costs, and resource requirements. - Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies. - Prepare project reports, forecasts, and presentations for stakeholders. - Support procurement activities, including vendor evaluations and contract administration. - Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to understand project needs and develop practical solutions. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. - Lead project close-out activities and capture lessons learned.
Requirements - Degree in Engineering; candidates from any engineering discipline will be considered. - Experience managing capital projects from planning through execution and close-out. - Experience in mining, industrial, processing, construction, or a similar environment is preferred. - Strong understanding of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and contractor coordination. - Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and a variety of stakeholders. - Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. - A practical and adaptable approach to project delivery. - P.Eng. designation or eligibility would be considered an asset.
