The Senior Paralegal (Funds Finance) supports the management of complex fund finance deals and/or projects, coordinates the finance-related workflow, and acts as a senior resource to the Fund Finance team, exercising independent judgment and providing guidance to junior paralegals Job Description

In this capacity, the Senior Paralegal (Funds Finance) will: - Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work; - Meet expectations of billable hours target of 1,725 (unless otherwise specified); - Independently manage the full life cycle of assigned fund finance transactions (including subscription credit facilities, NAV facilities, and other fund-level financings) from origination through closing and post-closing, exercising sound judgment with minimal supervision; - Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work; - Take the lead in preparing, negotiating, and finalizing transactional and closing documents under the direction of an attorney; prepare and manage closing binders, closing checklists, and signature pages, and independently track and resolve outstanding closing and post-closing items; - Review and quality-check the work product of junior paralegals assigned to the same deal team, providing guidance and constructive feedback; - Organize, review, and maintain documents and files related to fund finance transactions, including UCC filings, entity diligence, and lien searches; - Create and maintain master deal lists, client-related information, and other highly sensitive, confidential information, and serve as a go-to resource for deal status across the practice group; - Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and lenders on day-to-day transaction status and logistics, and participate in and help drive client/strategy calls, including preparing and maintaining meeting minutes and action-item trackers; - Train, mentor, and help onboard junior paralegals within the Fund Finance team; - Partner and coordinate with internal resources (e.g., docketing, records, conflicts) and third-party vendor services (e.g., UCC search and filing vendors) as needed; - Coordinate with other areas/departments of the Firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures/communications to streamline processes and satisfy various department needs; - Identify opportunities to improve practice group workflows, templates, and precedent, and help implement resulting process improvements; - Work overtime as required; and - Handle additional related projects as assigned.

Proficiencies: - Advanced Proficiency in MS Outlook and web-based conference call/web-sharing applications; - Advanced Proficiency in MS Word and document editing/comparison applications; - Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheet/database applications; - Fundamental Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and presentation applications; - Advanced proficiency in online research and internet resources, including UCC and lien search platforms; - Proficiency with document management systems (e.g. iManage); - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; - Working knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting applications; - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and - Working knowledge of legal billing processes.

Qualifications: - Minimum of 5+ years of paralegal experience with relevant fund finance or finance-related experience (required); - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong teamwork orientation (required); - Bachelor’s Degree (preferred); and - ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate (preferred).

The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $101,500 and a maximum of $140,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
