The Role:

The Network Operations Manager leads the operational core of the network organization, reporting to the Head of Network. This role spans two primary areas: managing network business functions and driving daily network operations to maintain a high-availability 24/7 environment.

What You'll Do - Maintains consolidated lifecycle documentation, asset records, and cost reporting. - Ensures end-to-end accuracy of network asset and service records, from CMDB to circuit inventory. - Runs the daily operational cadence—including huddles, alarm triage, outage tracking, and change facilitation—to maintain environment stability. - Oversees firmware maintenance and ensures high availability across a distributed network infrastructure.

Network Business Functions - Lifecycle Management: Oversee network assets and services from acquisition through refresh and retirement. - Financial Administration: Consolidate team budget records into a single version-controlled document, track spend, and report rollups to the Head of Network. - CMDB & Compliance: Keep asset and service records accurate, integrated, and audit-ready. - Circuit & Carrier Operations: Manage inventory, orders, disconnects, and billing accuracy. - Vendor & Purchasing Strategy: Partner with peer managers on purchasing, support renewals, and remote-hands vendor relationships.

Network Operations - Operational Leadership: Lead the team in triaging daily alarms, running morning operational huddles, and managing out-of-band management networks. - Observability & Tooling: Administer network intelligence and monitoring platforms (e.g., Kentik, LogicMonitor, NodePing, Forward Networks). - Incident & Change Management: Facilitate major changes, log activities, track outages, and supply engineers with operational data to speed recovery. - Global Coverage: Maintain a follow-the-sun operational model, delivering daily hand-off reports and extending triage coverage across time zones.

Team Leadership - Support and guide a distributed team across Canada, the US, and India, including internal staff, contracted engineers, and remote-hands providers. - Set clear priorities, support team performance, and coordinate seamless coverage across time zones.

What We're Looking For:

Required Skills: - Operational Leadership: Experience leading or coordinating 24/7 critical network operations, including monitoring, alarm triage, and incident response.  3+ years of experience. - Team Leadership: Experience managing or supporting distributed technical teams across multiple time zones. 3+ years of experience. - Business & Asset Operations: Familiarity with network asset lifecycles, CMDB/ITSM workflows, and circuit/carrier management.  3+ years of experience. - Financial & Spend Validation: Experience reviewing vendor invoices, tracking spend, or managing functional budget documentation.  3+ years of experience. - Tooling Familiarity: Working knowledge of network monitoring and observability platforms.

Preferred Qualifications - Vendor & Partner Management: Experience working with contracted engineers, managed service providers, or remote-handed vendors. - Experience with Kentik, LogicMonitor, or Forward Networks. - Transformation Context: Exposure to standing up processes in a transformation, carve-out, or TSA-exit environment. - Technical Depth: Network engineering understanding (such as CCNA-level concepts) to effectively partner with engineering teams. - Automation & Modernization: Interest or experience in network scripting, ITIL frameworks, or integrating automation/AI into operational workflows.

This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations determined by location and subject to change based on evolving business needs.
