The Houseperson / Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of all public areas, back-of-house spaces, meeting rooms, and guest service areas throughout the hotel. This position supports the Housekeeping team by ensuring supplies are stocked, guest requests are fulfilled promptly, and hotel cleanliness standards are consistently maintained to provide an exceptional guest experience.

Public Area Responsibilities - Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobby, corridors, elevators, restrooms, meeting spaces, fitness center, and administrative offices. - Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish assigned areas according to hotel standards. - Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the property. - Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, mirrors, and other fixtures. - Monitor and maintain cleanliness of entrances, sidewalks, and exterior guest areas. - Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and damaged equipment promptly. - Ensure public restrooms are clean, sanitized, and adequately stocked with supplies.

Houseman Responsibilities - Deliver guest requests including linens, towels, cribs, rollaway beds, and other amenities. - Stock housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas with necessary supplies. - Assist Room Attendants by removing trash, soiled linens, and recycling. - Transport clean and dirty linens between housekeeping and laundry areas. - Set up and break down meeting rooms and banquet spaces as directed. - Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments. - Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning or event setup.

Guest Service - Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries. - Interact with guests and team members in a professional and friendly manner. - Maintain a positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction. - Support hotel initiatives designed to enhance the guest experience.

Safety and Compliance - Follow all company safety procedures and housekeeping standards. - Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA and hotel guidelines. - Maintain awareness of security issues and report suspicious activities immediately. - Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and brand standards.

Qualifications - Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel experience preferred. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Effective verbal communication and guest service skills. - Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. - Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach. - Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. - Ability to safely operate housekeeping and cleaning equipment. - Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Education - High school diploma or equivalent required
