General Ledger Accountant

What you’ll be doing - Take ownership of day-to-day General Ledger (GL) activities for assigned legal entities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance. - Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing in line with Group deadlines and policies. - Prepare and review month-end journals, manual vouchers and short- and long-term accruals. - Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations , ensuring accurate Balance Sheet and P&L reporting. - Prepare, post and reconcile expense and payroll accounts. - Run depreciation and maintain the fixed asset ledger and General Ledger . - Prepare, review and approve balance sheet reconciliations in line with internal controls. - Review P&L accounts, analyse variances and ensure costs are allocated to the correct accounts and periods. - Support the Financial Controller with financial statements, consolidation reporting and audit preparation . - Work with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, tax and regulatory authorities. - Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across Finance processes. - Build strong relationships with Global Finance colleagues and wider business teams. - Support the training and onboarding of new colleagues within the General Accounting team.

Requirements - University degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field . - 5+ years of relevant accounting experience , ideally gained within an international FMCG, Consumer Healthcare or similarly fast-paced organisation. - Strong hands-on experience in General Ledger accounting and financial close processes . - Good understanding of accounting principles and IFRS . - Experience using a General Ledger module within an ERP system . - Understanding of end-to-end finance processes including Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C) and Purchase to Pay (P2P) . - Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. - Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with digital finance tools. - Fluent English, both written and spoken. - Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. - Collaborative and proactive approach, with a high level of integrity and accountability. - Hands-on mindset with a positive, practical and solution-focused approach.
