Job description

A leading company in the satellite and space technology sector is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (AIT) to join its engineering team. The role focuses on Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) activities for advanced satellite systems and complex aerospace hardware, supporting the successful integration, qualification, and delivery of high-performance space technology.

Responsibilities - Define, develop, and continuously improve mechanical Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) processes for complex aerospace hardware, from initial assembly through final acceptance and delivery. - Lead and execute the mechanical and structural assembly and integration of systems and sub-assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and configuration requirements. - Develop detailed assembly and integration procedures, work instructions, test plans, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation to ensure consistent and repeatable AIT activities. - Plan, coordinate, and support environmental qualification and acceptance testing, including vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, acoustic, and other mechanical or environmental tests. - Define requirements for and support the design, development, validation, and implementation of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), tooling, fixtures, lifting devices, and dedicated AIT workstations. - Collaborate closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Systems Engineering teams, providing AIT input and ensuring Design for Manufacturing, Assembly & Testability (DFM/DFA/DFT) principles are incorporated into product development. - Investigate integration and test anomalies, non-conformances, and hardware issues through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis, driving corrective and preventive actions. - Support hardware readiness reviews, configuration control, build records, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring full traceability and successful transition from engineering development to repeatable production.

Requirements - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. - At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or production of complex hardware systems within industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, semiconductors, or similar environments. - Strong mechanical engineering expertise, including precision assembly, mechanical drawings, CAD models, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and dimensional verification. - Proven experience in defining and qualifying assembly, integration, and testing processes, ideally including environmental testing and mechanical ground support equipment. - Familiarity with configuration management, root cause analysis, non-conformance management, cleanroom practices, and ESD requirements. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a very good command of English and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.

Benefits - Annual Gross Compensation: Base Salary €40.000 - €60.000 - Career development and growth opportunities
