Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Engineering to lead  the  development   and operation s  of  technology  platforms including  enterprise observability. This is a player-coach leadership role requiring recent hands-on technical  expertise , experience building observability platforms from the ground up, and the ability to lead a small team of  agile  engineers.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering management and hands-on technical work.  The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with leadership experience and has directly built and  operated  modern  platforms   especially   Grafana-based  OpenTelemetry , Kubernetes,  iaC ,  GitOps   and  other  automation technologies. This role will drive platform reliability, engineering excellence, and the SRE roadmap across the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions - Lead a team of platform engineers while actively contributing to the hands-on design, development, deployment, and operational support of platform solutions, ensuring technical deliverables are completed with quality and on schedule. - Define and execute the observability and SRE strategy, roadmap, and priorities. - Serve as a player-coach  by partnering directly with engineers to build and  operate  enterprise observability platforms supporting infrastructure and application monitoring. - Design, develop, and implement scalable platform solutions using modern onpremise  and  cloud, Kubernetes, and infrastructure  as code  automation technologies. - Lead platform development including  hands-on  contributions  to platform architecture, automation, troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution. - Design and drive technology solutions for  reliability, monitoring, automation, and operational excellence. - Establish standards, processes, and best practices for platform reliability and observability. - Provide technical leadership and make key engineering decisions while remaining  actively engaged in platform implementation and delivery.

Required Qualifications - 2+ years  of people  leadership experience managing technical engineering teams. - 8+ years of platform engineering, infrastructure,  DevOps, SRE, or related technical experience. - Demonstrated hands-on technical development  experience within the last  4  years  with: - Grafana ecosystem (LGTM Stack: Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir) - Python - Kubernetes - Terraform - 3+ years of experience with  ArgoCD , Helm, Git* CI/CD deployment  technlogies   in  an  enterprise environment - Proven experience building and delivering LGTM based observability platforms and operating them in production environments. - Experience initiat ing  and  developing   engineering  roadmaps for  platforms  in   Site  Reliability Engineering (SRE) ,  SDLC  and   engineering productivity  technologies and use-cases. - Strong experience with OpenTelemetry  and modern observability architectures. - Experience improving production  system reliability, monitoring, automation, and operational readiness. - Experience developing and  supporting on-premises or hybrid infrastructure environments (cloud-enabled platforms and modern infrastructure architectures).

Preferred Skills

Prior e xperience with any of the following  in a product or enterprise environment :   - Ansible - Linux systems administration - VMware  virtualization   technology  mgmt - Networking concepts and protocols - AWS C loud services - IT service management (ITSM) p ractices in - Integration platforms such as Boomi - Security and secrets management tools (CyberArk, Conjur , Vault, or similar) - AIOps  including MCP , agentic workflows, or AI-enabled operational tooling - Business continuity and disaster recovery ( DR)  automation solutions.

Base Pay Range

Annualized range offered for this position is estimated to be $185,000 - $215,000 . However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.

Variable Pay

Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
