What you will be doing

As a Mainframe Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of critical card management and payment processing solutions. You will design, develop, test, and   maintain   mainframe applications that support transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement, compliance, and modernization initiatives.

Success in this role requires   collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and reliable solutions. You will play a key role in regulatory compliance, product enhancements, production support, and continuous improvement efforts.   - Develop, enhance, and   maintain   mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies.   - Design and execute comprehensive unit tests to   validate   application functionality and performance.   - Collaborate with business, product, quality assurance, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.   - Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.   - Participate in technical design discussions, code walkthroughs, and solution reviews.   - Create and maintain technical documentation, test evidence, and change records to support audit and compliance requirements.

What you bring - COBOL Programming Fundamentals .  (1 - 3 years experience) - IBM z/OS Mainframe Knowledge.   - Foundational knowledge   with IMS DB/DC, CICS, VSAM, IMS, DB2, and MQ Series.   - Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, testing methodologies, and change management processes.   - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.   - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Bonus if you have - Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.   - Experience within card payments, debit processing, or financial services domains.   - Exposure to payment processing, transaction management, reconciliation, or settlement systems.   - Familiarity with modernization initiatives, API integration, and legacy system transformation.   - Experience supporting compliance, security remediation, and vulnerability management programs.
