Job description

About the Team

Our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re-inventing the way consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first-party and third-party operations businesses. DashMarts are our first-party offering designed to provide on-demand deliveries by selling household essentials, groceries, brand-name favorites, local favorites and so much more. The end to end DashMart experience is powered through DoorDash. Third-party partnerships enable us to offer on-demand deliveries from both SMB and enterprise merchants across grocery, convenience alcohol and retail storefronts. The merchants own the inventory, we fulfill and deliver them!

About the Role

We are hiring an Associate Manager to join the DashMart Strategy & Operations organization, focused on reducing supply chain costs to fuel profitability. In this role, you will own the end-to-end effort to reduce shrink, using SQL and AI to analyze data and identify opportunities, then designing and implementing solutions from the ground up. Solutions may be process-driven, working closely with Ops, Supply Chain, Vendor Management, and Category, or product-driven, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to build scalable fixes. You will be goaled directly against a key profitability metric, making this a highly visible role with outsized impact on the bottom line.

We're looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can think outside the box to uncover non-obvious opportunities and creative solutions. You should bring a high degree of ownership and be comfortable independently driving a project from data analysis through cross-functional execution. This role sits at the intersection of operations, product, and finance, and is critical to DashMart's profitability goals.

You will report into a Manager within the DashMart team. We operate in a hybrid work model with opportunities for in-person collaboration a few times a year, and all our offices are open should you choose to go in on a more regular basis! All employees that work on DashMart are also expected to spend time understanding the operation on site.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… - Strategize . You’ll set financial goals for Shrink in both the short and long term, and create the playbook to achieve those goals. - Analyze . You'll assess financial opportunity and operational impacts of your decisions across the entire business, and iterate based on data. - Build . You’ll own the implementation of your strategies end to end, from documenting processes and requirements to measuring the success of the results. - Scale . You’ll transform analytical insights into operational experiments that create measurable and scalable improvements to profitability. - Lead and collaborate . You’ll influence a cross-functional team including category management, vendor management, central operations, product, engineering, and finance to solve problems and scale solutions.

We’re excited about you because… - You have subject matter expertise in process improvement, data modeling, supply chain, and strong financial and business acumen. - You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds with SQL and data analysis, but you’re just as comfortable influencing roadmap discussions and strategic priorities. - You're unafraid of undefined processes. You are a creative problem solver who’s proficient at defining net new processes. You excel at working with a diverse group of people. - You’re analytical. You have a strong analytical background, advanced SQL proficiency, and experience with analytical visualization tooling (Sigma, Mode, Tableau, etc.). You have past experience building SQL queries from scratch and leveraging insights to drive business decisions. - You are AI native. You think systematically about where AI can make your work better and have used AI tools like Claude, Cursor, Gemini, etc. to enhance, refine and deepen your workflows.  - You have 4-6+ years of experience. You've succeeded at expanding businesses (whether in tech, retail, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience).

You have completed your BS/BA Degree ideally in supply chain, business, economics, engineering or a related field.
