Principal Software Development Engineer
Curtiss‑Wright is expanding its team of engineers who build next‑generation network management software. Our platform monitors and controls a wide variety of devices – from routers and firewalls to satellite modems and tactical radios – and presents operational, performance, configuration and security data in a way that non‑IT operators can understand and act on. As a senior engineer you will help design, develop, and evolve both the back‑end services and the front‑end user experience that power this microservices platform. You’ll work closely with product owners and external stakeholders to turn complex networking concepts into intuitive, reliable tools that keep critical communications running.
Location: Portland, Oregon or Remote
Salary Range: $144 ,100 - 192,100 per year plus bonus

Your Challenge: - Design, implement, and maintain full‑stack features for our network‑management platform using C# and modern frameworks. - Develop efficient APIs using multiple interfaces (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, etc.). - Build and extend microservices that run in Kubernetes, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, and secure. - Create automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting tasks. - Contribute to our emerging AI‑assisted coding workflow, evaluating tools and integrating them where they add value. - Assist in developing specifications and plans for new designs. - Participate in a robust DevSecOps process, closely collaborating with the team to ensure high quality implementations. - Produce clear architectural and help documentation.
What You bring: - BS Computer Science or equivalent experience - 10+ Years of professional software engineering experience - Deep experience with C#, .NET, and modern design frameworks and tools - Familiarity with virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V) and virtual networking - Familiarity with security concepts, PKI, and encryption standards - Experience with container orchestration, Docker compose files, and Helm charts is highly desirable. - Familiarity with web UI design and implementation (Blazor, Angular, JS) is desirable. - Experience developing functionality to monitor/control hardware devices like network routers or sensors is desirable - Strong communication/documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences - Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive attitude
