ABOUT THE ROLE
As the founding DevOps Engineer at an early-stage personal AI company, you will build the operational platform that enables a small engineering team to ship frequently and keep a trusted product reliable. You will establish the infrastructure, security, and incident response practices that support the product as it grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own cloud infrastructure, networking, databases, and compute, defining environments as code so engineers can provision and remove them reliably. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with fast builds, gated tests, preview environments, feature flags, and rapid rollbacks. - Design and operate logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting systems that surface issues early. - Establish on-call rotations, runbooks, and incident response practices, and lead postmortems that reduce repeat issues. - Implement security controls, including secrets management, least-privilege access, dependency scanning, audit logs, and infrastructure supporting privacy commitments. - Monitor infrastructure costs and capacity, plan for growth, and reduce waste. - Set platform standards and help hire engineers as the team grows.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 4 years of DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, including production on-call responsibilities. - Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Pulumi, containers, and orchestration. - A track record of building CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling that support frequent, reliable releases. - Experience with observability, incident response, postmortems, cloud infrastructure ownership, and security practices such as IAM and vulnerability scanning. - Ability to write TypeScript or Python and work with application code in production systems. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, with the judgment to verify and take ownership of shipped code. - A hands-on, founding-team mindset, with experience in cost monitoring, capacity planning, and helping teams adopt infrastructure practices.
