Job description

Chase Design Group is currently seeking a talented Senior Design Director for the Los Angeles office. As part of the team, they will establish the conceptual and stylistic direction for design staff and orchestrate their work, as well as production support. The Senior Design Director works closely with the Group Creative Director, Creative Director and/or lead creative along with clients, cultivating and maintaining these important relationships. The ideal candidate is highly creative and genuinely hands-on, with significant experience working with large CPG brands and complex portfolios. They should understand how portfolio architecture, visual identity and design systems work together to create consistency, distinction and flexibility across multiple brands, product lines, formats and markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex branding and design programs across a range of CPG categories, brands and media

• Strategic thinker ensuring well thought out creative solutions

• Lead all phases of work including research, strategy, concept exploration, design development and finalization

• Craft and deliver strategically sound client-facing presentations

• Direct, mentor and motivate multidisciplinary creative teams, including 3-6 designers, illustrators and/or other specialists

• Experience in identity design, brand systems, packaging, understanding of print production, environmental design. Digital and motion design is a plus.

• A truly hands-on designer with the skillset to jump in and create with the team

• Adhere to project timelines, manage project scope and effectively communicate project status to internal partners

• Provide quality control on all completed projects to ensure design quality and production accuracy

Requirements

• A self-starter with a degree in graphic design or illustration

• 5-6 years’ experience working in a director level capacity on large scale CPG brands

• Extremely proficient in all core Adobe CS programs (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)

• Experience with 3D and Motion is a plus

• Extensive knowledge of print pre-press and production

• Exceptional typography and strong hand skills

• Successfully manages shifting priorities, tight deadlines and last-minute requests

• Travel is a requirement of this position for client needs

Salary Range

$140-160K
