The Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership, solution architecture guidance, and hands-on software development expertise for complex enterprise applications, integrations, and cloud-native platforms. This role serves as the technical authority for assigned initiatives and partners closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Delivery teams to ensure successful execution of strategic business objectives.

This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end experience.
Commercial Technologies Software Engineering develops design options, process improvements and back-end solutions for commercial technologies to maximize performance and suitability for business needs. This job family manages engineering projects and plans for commercial technologies and interfaces with product managers to develop objectives. This job family assesses product systems, identifies opportunities for process and system improvements, and develops solutions through application of engineering principles.
Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions. - Own end-to-end technical solution delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability. - Define and drive technical architecture, engineering standards, design patterns, and development best practices across teams. - Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide teams through implementation strategies. - Lead technical planning, estimation, and architecture reviews for all initiatives. - Drive design decisions that balance business objectives, technical debt, operational supportability, performance, cost, and risk. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, engineers, and managed service partners. - Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges, production incidents, and architecture-related decisions. - Lead root cause analysis efforts and ensure preventive measures are implemented to improve system stability and reliability. - Review application designs, code, infrastructure components, and deployment strategies to ensure quality and compliance with organizational standards. - Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and observability. - Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, Compliance, and Platform Engineering teams to implement secure and compliant solutions. - Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve business outcomes and developer productivity. - Design and implement integration solutions across internal and external platforms using APIs, event-driven architectures, and integration platforms. - Provide end-to-end technical oversight across application, integration, data, security, infrastructure, and operational domains. - Establish technical roadmaps and identify opportunities for modernization, automation, and continuous improvement. - Ensure applications meet operational excellence requirements including monitoring, alerting, HA/DR, performance, and supportability. - Influence technical strategy and engineering direction across multiple products and teams. - Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders, vendors, architects, and leadership teams. - Define project milestones, technical deliverables, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans. - Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, innovation, quality, and continuous learning.
Qualifications - 8-12 years of experience, preferred - Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred - Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, React and/or Angular - Extensive experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (preferred) - Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Cloud-native application development, Container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code - Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform - Hands-on experience with API Management and Integration platforms such as Apigee & Other enterprise integration platforms - Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Security, Authentication and Authorization models - Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Relational and NoSQL databases, Data integration and analytics platforms - Experience using OpenAPI / Swagger, API lifecycle management, Automated testing frameworks, Observability and monitoring tools - Experience working within regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmacy, or financial services. - Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), Risk and compliance controls - Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives. - Experience building enterprise integration platforms and API ecosystems.

Anticipated salary range: $125,300 - $178,900
