Job description

Responsibilities: - Build, maintain, and expand the vinyl record collections for Buck Mason and Fast Times. - Create and manage playlists for retail locations, developing seasonal and location-specific music - Curate and maintain book collections for Fast Times bookstores and Buck Mason stores. - Develop collections across subjects including literature, art, architecture, design, fashion, photography, music, film, history, philosophy, food, coffee, travel, and the outdoors. - Conduct ongoing research into books, music, artists, photographers, architects, designers, filmmakers, and broader cultural references that support the brand. - Organize and maintain Buck Mason’s library and record archives, ensuring materials are properly cataloged and easily accessible. - Maintain a comprehensive inventory of books, records, artists, and reference materials. - Partner with Design, Retail, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Creative teams to provide research, inspiration, and sourcing support. - Continuously seek out new ideas, references, and emerging voices that align with the Buck Mason and Fast Times point of view.

Required Skills: - Deep knowledge and appreciation of music, literature, art, design, and culture, with a strong personal point of view and exceptional taste. - Naturally curious and passionate about discovering and connecting ideas across disciplines. - Strong research skills with the ability to source and contextualize books, music, artists, photographers, architects, designers, filmmakers, and other cultural references. - Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain and catalog growing collections and archives. - Dependable, resourceful, and capable of exercising sound judgment. - Strong written communication skills and the ability to clearly document and share information. - Able to manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities while working independently. - Self-directed with a thoughtful and disciplined approach to organization and curation. - Experience building, maintaining, or cataloging collections is preferred. - Familiarity with vinyl records, bookstores, publishing, or archival practices is a plus.
