We are seeking an experienced CPA to join a growing public accounting and advisory firm serving high-net-worth individuals, business owners, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
This role combines tax compliance with strategic advisory , providing opportunities to work directly with clients on tax planning, estate planning, retirement strategies, and long-term wealth management. The ideal candidate is a client-focused tax professional who enjoys solving complex issues and building trusted, long-term relationships.
Responsibilities - Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. - Provide year-round tax planning, projections, and advisory services. - Research tax laws, regulations, and legislative changes to develop effective planning strategies. - Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical recommendations based on client goals. - Assist with trust, estate, and fiduciary tax planning and compliance. - Support retirement planning, wealth management, and broader financial advisory initiatives. - Participate in client meetings and communicate tax strategies and recommendations. - Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. - Collaborate with senior tax professionals on complex tax, accounting, and advisory engagements. - Manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines throughout the year. - Prepare accurate workpapers and maintain organized supporting documentation. - Stay current on tax legislation, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
Requirements - Active CPA license required. - 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience. - Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns. - Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations. - Trust, estate, and fiduciary tax experience is highly preferred. - Interest in expanding into tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, and wealth management. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong client-service and relationship-building skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. - Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax season. - Ability to work on-site in Oradell, NJ .
