Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated,   state-of-the-art   medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit,   multispecialty , academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health.   As Team Center Coordinator in the CVICU, you will provide top-quality customer service to patients,   families   and visitors to promote and support the best healthcare experience possible. You will   act as the traffic controller for the unit through   perform ing   various administrative and clerical duties to ensure  lights are being answered, patient   nutrition   and smooth patient   operations.  This   role offers you a unique opportunity to enhance both your management and nursing skills in a welcoming, encouraging environment.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

- Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.

- Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.

- Assist   with processing patient admissions,   transfers   and discharges.

- Assist   patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.

- Assemble and   maintain   patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.

- Assist   with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call systems, portable phones,   WOWs   and other unit devices.

- Provide or   assist   with basic patient care activities, such as taking vital signs and weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.

- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,   mental   or emotional condition to an RN.

- Assist   with keeping patient rooms clean & orderly .

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- High School Diploma or GED

- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

- One year of recent, full-time experience in patient care or customer service OR additional education/training OR current nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)

- Experience with typing, computer   training   or equivalent coursework

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- Microsoft Office experience

- One year of Clinical Technician experience

Physical Requirements:

- Work requires finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.

- Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

- Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests; ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department directors, physicians and other members of the Healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem-solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.

- Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, directing staff and carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities.

- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye/hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.

- Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

- Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.

- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
